Encode with Quicktime conversion using the xiphQT component.
Selecting medium quality results in a bitrate of about 3300kbps

Open Format

The big advantage is that Ogg is a free, open container format and the Theora codec is based on the public domain VP3 codec. The Ogg formats is still within patent lifetime and thus vulnerable to unknown patents.


But, it might not be as good as h.264 or webm (it should be comparible to mpeg4 part 2.
